About Brighterhome Design
Brighterhome studio is a design-led practice working across residential, commercial, and experiential projects. The studio focuses on spatial clarity, material honesty, and concepts that translate cleanly from idea to built form.
Design decisions are grounded in buildability and real-world execution, with a strong emphasis on collaboration between designers, fabricators, and trades. From early concept through to visualisation and delivery, each project is approached with the same intent: thoughtful design, clear communication, and outcomes that endure beyond the render..
The Studio Lead
Brighterhome Design is led by Katina Fimmel, Principal Designer and Creative Director.
With a multidisciplinary background spanning fine art, fashion, 3D visualisation, and conceptual design, Katina brings a highly visual, systems driven approach to interior and experiential projects. Her work sits at the intersection of creative ambition and practical execution, balancing strong spatial narratives with the realities of construction, materials, and fabrication.
This approach has led to collaborations with clients and partners including Greenspec Events, Untitled, RMIT, and Elegance Tiles, across residential, commercial, and large-scale experiential work.
Rather than designing in isolation, Katina works closely with clients, builders, and makers to ensure ideas are not only compelling, but buildable. This collaborative process allows concept and execution to evolve together, resulting in spaces that are expressive, functional, and grounded in craft
Design Approach
Brighterhome projects are guided by geometry, proportion, and material logic. Each space is considered as a whole - how it is experienced, how it is built, and how it will age over time.
Visualisation plays a key role in the studio’s process, allowing complex ideas to be clearly communicated early and refined collaboratively. This reduces ambiguity, supports smoother builds, and helps align all parties before construction begins.
The result is work that feels intentional rather than overworked. Confident in form, clear in purpose, and responsive to the people who use it.
